Schools can procure first aid training from training companies, but there is a big difference in what the Canopy Medical Services team, all with frontline NHS experience, can add to that type of training: How to manage situations, not just complete tasks.

Because we know that’s how it works in the real world. If a pupil or staff member is hurt, you have to do more than treat that person. You have to do so, while managing everyone else.

Two things help you do that. Firstly, having a group of trained people, who can all appreciate the circumstances and work together, whilst independently taking the right actions with the right priorities.

Secondly, being trained with real scenarios in mind, complete with extenuating circumstances. We know how medical situations can become more complex, the placebo effect is a real thing. One person collapses from heatstroke at sports day, then others. Do they all need treatment, or not? These are the judgements that must be made.

Many teachers of first aid have never worked in frontline clinical environments, they can teach techniques and theory, but not real-world situational awareness like we can.

Canopy Medical Services offer 3-day accredited first aid training for 12 participants for £1350, fulfiling your CPD hours with certification.

We can also ensure you complete the annual requirement for half-day touchup training.
